Wonderboard to the Rescue!

I started the bathroom reassembly by starting to lay cementboard on the floors. First of all, I was alone, and cementboard is, well, cement, so it weighs a ton. The 3x5 pieces are unwieldy, and of course I was looking for the 1/4 inch thick boards, which were piled under a handful of 1/2 inchers. Then I simply had to score both sides and snap. Well, maybe.

I figured out a couple tricks, like one side is better to start with than the other, and finally had the board trimmed to fit.
And by "trimmed to fit," I mean "meticulously measured and cut, then jammed into place to break it so it really fits, since measuring doesn't seem to work."

I did start with the hardest piece because it has a hole for the toilet, but now I could theoretically throw some tile down and have a working toilet before the bathroom is done. Here it is, already mortared into place with thinset (I have yet to sink the screws). And I even got it to be level!
