Prepping Shelves

Before we could put all our stuff away into the kitchen cabinets and hallway closets, they needed a good cleaning. Most of this could be accomplished by pulling out the grungy old shelf liner. Ryan worked on the kitchen this afternoon, pulling out four different types--sometimes two layers deep--of liner from the cabinets. They were also painted pink, then yellow, at least on the inside (wonder if the pink belonged to the same pink bathroom/living room/bedroom person).

I pulled out blue paper with little flowers in the linen closet and put our new, neutral liner in there and on the coat closet shelves. The old paper smelled like fabric softener, and the new smells nice and plastic-y. Now the towels and sheets are in and I don't have to worry about lying on my pillow or toweling off and wondering, "what is that flowery smell?"
