Fencing Begins

Ryan and his dad have started work on the fence, buying materials that I said were the lazy way of fencing, but his dad priced it out and pre-made panels are cheaper than buying the wood by itself. OK, I stand corrected. They were able to get the prep work done today, putting in posts for the gate and posts where we don't have a cinderblock fence to use as a foundation. I realize that it isn't necessary to put a block wall up to a garage wall, and you get another foot of space, but it just looks stupid to have the fence stop. Ryan thinks I'm crazy for having such a strong opinion on the continuous fence matter, but if we're putting in something taller that covers the blocks, why not make it one straight fence?
There is also some sort of grade issue in the yard, but I'm not sure how Ryan's dad is solving that. The options were to level the fence at the highest point and add wood below where the ground slants or stagger some of the posts up to reach the higher level. Whatever happens is fine, because at least we're not paying for all that labor!
