
Even though my dad handled all of the painting, there was one thing I needed to take care of. When I first cleaned the house, I saw these metal things in all the closets and had no idea what they were. When he got here, I asked my dad.
"Oh, shoe racks," he said.
Duh. So simple, yet something I never would have thought of.

Anyway, they were old and rusty, so I coated them with the kind of spray paint you use for appliances and other enameled surfaces. They look really good now, but I had no idea how far the paint mist would go. Oops!
