I was able to cut and lay the last pieces of Wonderboard tonight. I thought it would be a much faster process. The board against the furthest wall went in easily--it only needed to be trimmed off to fit against the tub--but trying to put the center piece between that board and the one by the toilet took a lot of retrimming.

Not only did I have to cut around the tub and the shower wall, but I also had to cut down the sides to fit between the other pieces. Even though the edge pieces seemed straight against the walls, the walls probably aren't straight, so I had to cut slanted edges.
The good news is that I have practiced my thinset techniques in an area that matters far less than what's under the tile. I was also pretty lucky in that the floor was mostly level. There were some dips around the toilet and on one edge of the tub, but they've been fixed. I can tell that there are some places where it's not perfect--the floor seems to slant up ever so slightly where the vanity will be--but I'm not worried.

Plus, Bunsen approves.
