Well, that was until I looked online and decided I could do it. A heat gun seemed to be the top removal method, but I didn't have a heat gun and I didn't want to go get one. Would a hair dryer be a proper substitute? I saw something that said a flooring steam cleaner would help loosen the adhesive, and then it hit me--I'd iron the floors.

Bathroom Demo Finale, Finally
So, I got to this point and was feeling pretty good about it.
Everything I needed to take out was gone, and even though I'd feel better about putting cementboard directly on to the plywood subfloor, the linoleum is a pain in the ass to pull up. I figured I'd leave it and no one would be the wiser. Right?
Once I got into a groove, I was running the iron along and just peeling up large strips of linoleum. Unfortunately, during the first, not-so-in-the-groove part, I ironed a lot of dirt and other debris, which is now all stuck to my almost new digital iron. I should have kept the 1960s(?) iron I had before for jobs like this. But, it's all out and it only took a couple hours.
