Ring Around the Redwood

Our State Fair redwood has been living in a bucket for more than a year now, which meant that it was planting time.  Ryan and I plotted out a location in the vast expanse of the back lawn.  To make an easy definition around the tree, I got a tree ring from Home Depot, which I think looks a little mid-century-ish, like the rest of our house. 

I hope the redwood is happy in the backyard.  It's been a little brown since our vacation, but with iron and regular watering, it's sprouted another six or eight inches in two months.
