Junk Pile Surprise

When I quit my job, the concrete pad behind the garage looked like this.
Every week, I have been filling the trash can to the brim with old pipes, roofing, wood, and more, and now there is almost nothing left.  I'll share an after photo when it's all gone--next week, fingers crossed--but before then, I wanted to show you the surprise that scurried out of the pile of tar paper from the garage roof.
I don't know if he's been at the bottom this whole time, or if it's just coincidence that he appeared with everything but one sheet of tar paper gone.  He's much bigger than any backyard lizards I've ever seen; I thought he was a snake at first when he started to move.  I'm just glad Ryan wasn't home to hear the weird surprised noise I made when I uncovered him.
