I've taken some time away from the backyard to start addressing our weed problem in the front. We've had weeds take over half the front flowerbeds, even killing some of the large bushes in front of the living room windows. I raked and dug out the weeds above and below the old landscape fabric in one section, sprayed lots and lots of Roundup, put down a new layer of landscape fabric, and topped it with rubber mulch. It's a start, but I need to keep moving down the yard and replace some of the plants that have fallen victim to the weeds.
