A couple weeks ago, we got a notice from the city that they're going to repair our broken sidewalk. Since then, all the utility companies have been checking for lines underneath the sidewalk and spray painting messages that there is nothing underneath. They also decided that our tree would get pruned and not removed (though I'm still worried about losing it).
We got a construction zone sign outside yesterday for pruning today.
