Those Home Depot commercials that command you to get up and do something this weekend are pretty persuasive. (So are the RuPaul's Drag Race commercials that say, "watch or die," but that's a different story.) I decided it was time to hang the ceiling fan that we bought more than a year ago. We'd thought it would require installing a box in the attic, but apparently one was up there the entire time. So, now we have matching fans in the bedroom and office, albeit a year late.
Since we had the leftover light fixture from the office, I wanted to switch it out with one of the brass monstrosities in the hallway. We were able to find another semi-matching fixture at Home Depot, and just switched the shade from the back bedroom fixture with the new fixture so that the hall lights would match. It only took an hour and 25 bucks, but I'm kicking myself since it had taken us almost two years to do it.
