Kitchen Concepts

I've put together a timeline for our kitchen renovation, which will be coming up sooner than we thought. Our goal is to buy cabinets the weekend of April 15, as Ikea should be having a tax-free sale at that time. That means we need to have the space demolished and rebuilt so we can measure the new kitchen rather than the old.

With kitchens on the mind, we had to stop by Home Depot and see if they had any in-stock supplies that we might like. There were some interesting slate-look floor tiles, which we're considering, but Ryan and I were both really taken with this for a backsplash.

I'm partial to black granite, which I think will go well with these colors. There are so many different blacks, too, so we should be able to coordinate the granite to the tile. Or we'll get a completely different color. I'm just not sure yet.I'm also not sure about paint. We'll have to do something to brighten the grays and blacks...maybe a sunny yellow? Sherwin Williams has a color called "Moonraker." It doesn't look so great online, but I really want it to look good because it's far and away the best named yellow. "Fun Yellow?" Pft. "Peace Yellow?" Lame. "Moonraker?" Try to tell me that's not awesome.
