Dirt Fill-In

I spent the morning in the yard. First, I finished filling in the pipe trenches. Since the (dead) grass is so much higher than the sidewalk and new walkway section, it's hard to determine how much to actually fill in. I keep thinking I need to bring the dirt that was removed for the walkway out from the backyard,
but once the grass is gone, there probably will be extra dirt to even everything out.

Next, I sifted some dirt to fill in the flower beds. I kept the level about half a brick down from where it will finally be, since I'll be digging around in it for plants and I think I'm going to be putting mulch in as well.

Finally, I worked to clean and even out the dirt in the main planting areas. I'd like to be able to get through a lot more of that this afternoon; I'm anxious to get to the plants!
