Decorating, Olsen Style

Thanks to Uncle Paul (and, unfortunately, the death of his father), we received a whole lot of furniture and other goodies.  Since they are cleaning out the house to put it on the market--if you have a million or so bucks, it's a cool house so you should buy it--I rented a van this week and went up to San Francisco to pick everything, or most everything, up.

By the time I got home yesterday evening, the van wasn't as crowded as it was to start because dropped a recliner off in Sacramento, but there was still a lot. We unloaded everything into the living room, and Ryan decided that I'm crazy for thinking we needed all this.
I had to clear out the garage storage room this morning, which meant getting rid of Ryan's old desk that he was supposed to give to his brother a year ago, as well as the old kitchen cabinets.  I had thought we'd use them for a workshop space in that room, but Ryan decided it's best to leave it empty until we sell.
The end tables went in on both sides of the couch, replacing one Ikea by way of Goodwill table that we bought years ago.
The cedar hope chest took the place of my shoe boxes on the floor of our bedroom closet.  The shoes will be moving to Sacramento soon, and it's summer and I'm not working, so I didn't really need access to them all anyway.
A couple things ended up stowed in the garage, where we already had some extra furniture stashed.  We may not have space for them now in our tiny, temporary house, but we'll have space in a few years, and I would have been sad if good things had been disposed of because I couldn't use them right now.
