Yes, it's been two months, but between rain, drying out from rain, dog sitting, being feted at law school admission events, and losing the battle against gophers and weeds, I haven't been able to do anything that's visually appealing. The flat dirt isn't flat anymore since the gophers have gotten to it; in fact, twice while I was working today, I heard a crunching noise and saw grass moving from below, so I jumped up and down on those spots to try to scare the gophers away.

It's also taken me forever to figure out how the stones would work on top of the wall. First of all, the 12-inch wide capstones are not the same width as the 12-inch wide wall stones, so I fiddled with them before realizing I could use leftover tile spacers in between. I also had a really hard time getting them to line up straight. I tried a level, straight edge, string line...none of it worked. Finally, I just measured each stone off the back fence and visually adjusted for places where the fence has bowed in or out. I did the full layout and used up my one canister of adhesive this morning. I finished the wall, including cut pieces on the ends, in the afternoon after buying more adhesive and one more piece (since, of course, the 48-foot wall required 48 2/3 12-inch bricks).
