Flat Dirt

I've been grading the dirt and adding the gravel back fill behind the blocks to finish the raised bed before planting.  I also bought a handful of potential capstones (since we can't get ones that match the blocks completely) so we can test them before installation.  We're still trying to decide if the gray of these is too light compared to the gray in the blocks.
I needed to collect more dirt from the yard for behind the retaining wall, so I leveled out one of the flowerbeds next to the garage.  I'd put black plastic over it in the summer to kill of the weeds.  They did die, but gophers also got up underneath and added a lot more dirt than had been in there before--although they had been slightly raised because of the cinderblock borders.  You can see how the bed that's closer to the camera is now flat, but the other is still bumpy and full of dirt.

Also, I of course had helpers for this work.  Both were actually curled up together sunning on the black plastic, but Bunsen ran away as soon as I got the camera.
