Happy Anniversary!

It's been exactly three years since we closed on our house, and we celebrated by finishing the front landscaping.  Yesterday, Ryan and I dug out the dead weeds from the side of the house.

We wanted to plant something that would grow tall and provide a bit of a barrier, but the space gets a lot of shade.  Our solution was not what I expected we'd find walking in to Home Depot.

My hope for our upcoming vacation was a cruise that included Egypt, but cruise companies have decided it's too unsafe, so we're going to Istanbul instead.  That's OK, because now we have a bit of Egypt at home.

We worked through the side gate that's been locked since we moved in, which confused our helpers.

So, it only took three years, but we have a finished front yard!  Except for the plants we need to replace due to gopher damage...
