A long holiday weekend with no cooking and no travel meant that Ryan and I were able to work on a handful of projects. I started permanently wiring lights on the bottom of the tree that we got last year, but it's going really slow.
We went shopping the after Thanksgiving sales and found a great deal on kitchen appliances. What started as a thought that we could buy a fridge in lieu of Christmas presents and start using it before the kitchen renovation lead to us buying a whole suite of appliances. The total cost was just a little more than we thought we'd spend on just the refrigerator, so we feel like we got a great deal.
Now we have a beautiful new fridge in the midst of our terrible kitchen, and boxes of everything else in the garage.
We also bought a fireplace screen, and Ryan set about building our first fire in the house tonight.
Success! I'm sitting on the floor in front of the fireplace right now and it's great.
